2011 – Knoxville, A Year In Review

I have been working on my business plan for the new year and reflecting on what has happened over the last year in our real estate market.  In Knox County, there were 3,824 single family home sales in 2011 vs 4172 single family home sales in 2010. The average sales price in 2011 for single family homes was $195,731 vs $195,808.  I think that is pretty good considering what is going on in other parts of the country.  To me, this is a good indication that we are in a very stable market.  In 2011, there were 662 single family foreclosures vs 781 in 2010.  Our condominium market also faired pretty well.  In 2011 there were a total of 629 sales vs 773 in 2010.  There were 73 foreclosures in 2011 and 83 foreclosures in 2010.  The average sales price in 2011 was up, $155,737 vs $150,957 in 2010.  If you are wondering about your particular area and how you faired, just call me or send me an email and I will be happy to provide that information to you.  You can also sign up for my FREE Market Insider report to search by zip code.
