Running Out Of Gas?

A few days ago, a few REALTORS® and I were talking about running out of gas. Gasoline that is. Although this has never happened to me, I did have to laugh. I offered a few suggestions to these younger ladies (I am old enough to be their Mothers) which is to check your gas gage as soon as you get in the car in the morning. After dropping your children off to pre-school, stop at the gas station to top off your tank if you are at a half a tank or below. Studies that I have read show that if you top off your gas tank at half a tank, you get better gas mileage, but one more plus, is that your bill is lower. I know, it is a mind game but I will take it.
After having a good laugh, I started thinking about how we truly run out of gas – energy. So I looked up the definition of Running Out of Gas: to lose momentum or interest. : ” I hope I don’t run out of gas before I finish what I set out to do.” “Dictionary of American Slang and Colloquial Expressions by Richard A. As busy Moms, Wives and Full Time REALTORS®, we can have some pretty crazy days. We are responsible for so many things in our lives, like making sure the house is clean, laundry is done, grocery’s are purchased, making sure that the kid’s homework in complete and making sure that you are giving your full attention to God, family and your clients. We MUST be “Great” time managers to make sure that we have plenty of “GAS” to accomplish our daily tasks. My suggestion to anyone that has a busy schedule is to write it all down on your calendar. Time Block. This includes your personal time. You need to make time for yourself and for your family. Write it down! When you have time blocked off for yourself and your family, change your voicemail to say when you will be returning phone calls. People really do understand that you have a life. They just want to know when you will be calling them back. You will be amazed at what you can accomplish by making this a daily routine. You will find that you have a more balanced life and plenty of energy. Your family and friends will like you better too…
