Tellico Village – Knoxville’s Perfect Place to Call (Your) Home

Tellico Village named a “Top 100 Best Master-Planned Community” by Where to Retire magazine is located 31 miles south of Knoxville TN. Framed by the Smoky Mountains and Tellico Lake, the beauty of Tellico Village is an attraction for people the world over. The village was founded in 1986 and is one of the friendliest places you will ever find.

Tellico Village ScenerySince Tellico Village is a private community they do not rely on any federal, state or local funding. All the amenities, sewer and water system and the roads are the responsibility of the Property Owner’s Association (POA). They also take care of any governmental tasks and in addition, are a non-profit corporation. The projects they fund are from the monthly dues paid by the residents of Tellico Village.

Tellico Village has three clubhouses. The Yacht and Country Club is where everyone gathers for get-togethers, bridge games and dining. This is the central location for socializing and the lake is the perfect view when dining. The guests often arrive by water and land. The boardwalk located here is a popular after dinner strolling area.

The Tanasi Clubhouse is where the golfers gather and join their friends for dinner or a drink. The choice of inside seating or the veranda that overlooks the golf course are both popular. In addition, golfers have a pro-shop equipped with the latest equipment and a practice putting green.

Tellico Village LocationTellico Village is also the location of the Tanasi Clubhouse which includes a view of the Tellico Lake. The large amount of glass used in this building allows you to enjoy the unbeatable sights that surround you. They also have a portico that wraps around the building and this is another popular place people like to hang out and enjoy the gorgeous scenery.

The Kahite Clubhouse is another spot with a stunning view. The Smoky Mountains and the Kahite golf course are two of the views and you can also see the tennis courts and the swimming pool.

In addition to all of these amenities, the Wellness Center is located in Tellico Village and is the place to go to stay fit. There are many facilities located here including saunas, exercise rooms, weight rooms, an indoor walking track, a therapy pool and an indoor saline pool.

Tellico Village LakeThe outdoor area is getting ready for two tennis courts of the soft-surface type. The Wellness Center is at the highest point in Tellico Village, so the sight seeing from here includes the lake and the Smoky Mountains. Tellico Village has a walking trail that begins at the Toqua/Chota intersectoin and ends at Geya Way. There are many lovely sights to see on the trail including plants that are native to the Knoxville area. The trail is approximately 1.6 miles long and is eight feet wide.

When Tellico Village residents want to find attractions in the area, within 50 miles of the village are Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, Dollywood and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The village is only 12.2 miles from Interstate 75 which will access sixteen states and the Gulf of Mexico!
